A warm welcome to Abney’s EEP to all returning and new students and parents, we are excited to have you with us.
For those of you that do not know me, allow me to introduce myself, my name is Mae Borkowski and I am the Director of our Before Care/After Care program. We have a wonderful staff here to care for your child and all have been approved by the ST. Tammany Parish School Board.

Listed below are some facts about our program that you may find helpful.

  1. There is a $15 non-refundable registration fee per family. All children must be registered to attend EEP. No student will be accepted in EEP unless there is registration form on file.
  1. Our Before Care opens at 6:00 a.m. and the cost is $20 per week per child. The Before Care is run by Ms. Kathy Cortes. The cost for drop in is $6 per day.
  1. The After Care is open until 6:00 p.m. and the cost is $35 per week per child. There will be a $1 per minute charge per child for students not picked up by 6:00 p.m. All late fees are due on the day that the fee is accumulated. Students will not be accepted back in EEP until late fees are paid.
  1. The cost per day is $6 per child. Three or more days a week is considered a full week and credit is not given for days the student does not attend. Fees do not roll over to the next week.
  1. If you need to use both services a.m. and p.m. the charge is $50 per week per child.
  1. All fees are due by Wednesday unless previous arrangements have been made with either Ms. Kathy or myself. If fees are not paid by Wednesday the student will not be able to attend EEP until payment is made in full.
  1. To enable us to make EEP a fun and safe place for all the students we have compiled a list of rules that must be followed at all times. The list of rules is attached, please review it with your child and both student and child sign it and return it with your registration form.

EEP Rules

All students are required to follow the same rules in EEP that they follow during the regular school day.  EEP is an extension of the normal school day.

1. BULLYING IS NOT TOLERATED!

2. Respect other students’ personal space and possessions. This means do not take things that do not belong to you.

3. Keep hands and feet to yourself at all times.

4. No foul language will be permitted.

5. Show respect to all of the EEP employees, this includes the High School students that are working.

6. There is 45 minutes set aside for homework. All students need to take advantage of this time to do homework, study or read.  Students are encouraged to bring a book to read when they are finished with homework.

7. Respect all of the games and books that EEP has for the students to use. This includes the playground equipment that we have.

8. Safe play is a must on the playground.

If students do not follow the rules there will be consequences. For the safety of our children, appropriate behavior is essential for our program.  Inappropriate behavior will result in the appropriate consequence and can lead to dismissal from the program.  Serious offenses such as fighting will lead to immediate dismissal.

If you have any questions please call the EEP room at 645-9200, or the main office at 643-4044.
