Through the 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant, the St. Tammany Parish Public School System has been awarded a three-year grant for four centers. These centers provide academic tutoring by adults and college students in reading, mathematics, science, and writing; homework assistance; computer and technological literacy; enrichment programs in art and drama; recreational sports; nutrition; integrated drug and violence reduction/ prevention activities; and parent and community programs. These centers provide after-school and evening opportunities for learning in a safe and drug-free environment.

Chahta-Ima Elementary, Creekside Junior High, Pine View Middle, and St. Tammany Junior High Schools house the centers, and services are available to students, families, and community members in these four communities. Limited funding may restrict the number of people who can be served at one time.

21st Century community partners include: Big Brothers/ Big Sisters, Northlake Nature Center, 4H Club, Junior Auxiliary, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Fontainebleau State Park, St. Tammany Hospital Parenting Center

21st Century offers four summer camps at each center for six weeks during the summer. These camps are all day. The mornings are devoted to academic interactive programming and afternoons are designated for enrichment activities such as field trips and water activities.
